"We Speak the Same Language" with Avis

With the "We Speak the Same Language" project, launched in July 2017, Avis aims to minimize the problems experienced due to the lack of communication of people at car rental points, and to increase the quality of service received and provided. With the project that was implemented for the first time in Turkey by a car rental company, Avis provided sign language training to its employees to ensure that hearing-impaired individuals have equal living standards with healthy individuals while renting a car.

Within the scope of this cooperation, all our hearing-impaired customers started to get service with a discount of 40%. The project also aimed to draw attention to the issue of raising awareness about first aid in society by bringing the First Aid Handbook in Turkish Sign Language to our country. We came together with our hearing-impaired mothers within the framework of "Hearing and Speech Impaired Day" & "Mother's Day". First aid training was provided in Turkish Sign Language. In addition to these steps, "IEEF Video Support Service Center" was implemented provided service to hearing-impaired individuals free of charge during the pandemic period in the world and our country, as a step of the project in cooperation between Avis and Hearing-Impaired Education Activities Association (IEEF), to provide solutions to all kinds of problems of hearing-impaired individuals and to facilitate their access to the services.

We offer solutions to our hearing-impaired customers with the IEEF Video Support Service Center application. The service is provided between 07:00 am and 10:00 pm 6 days of a week, and between 09:00 am and 08:00 pm on Sundays. With this project, we have achieved to touch their hearts by entering into their quiet lives. We said, “We do and will speak the same language with you” by talking with our hands.

The IEEF Video Support Service Center has provided a significant contribution to these efforts. Hearing-impaired individuals have been provided with solutions and necessary guidance by connecting the to the center whenever they needed. Thus, the problems have been eliminated and necessary information and services are provided to them in sign language.
