How to be an Avis Preferred Member?

If you have your driver's license and credit card with you, you can complete your membership transactions free, quickly and easily through our website.
Once you sign-up, your unique customer number will be sent to you via e-mail. You can then quickly log in or become a member for free.

Membership Tiers
The more you rent with Avis Preferred, the more advantages you get. We have three membership tiers, all of which are more advantageous than one another, and which can be achieved according to the rentals you made with your membership in the past year.
Remember! Rentals you made before becoming a member do not affect your membership tier.

Avis Preferred

You can become a member of Avis Preferred without paying any fee and step into Avis' world full of privileges.

Avis Preferred Plus

Your membership will be promoted from Avis Preferred to Avis Preferred Plus after at least 5 rentals and rental fees of € 1,000

Avis President's Club

Your membership will be promoted from Avis Preferred Plus to Avis President's Club after at least 10 rentals and rental fees of € 2,000.

Term of Membership (Loyalty Year)

The first year of the loyalty programme starts with your Avis Preferred membership. Members who have reached Avis Preferred Plus or Avis President's Club tier can benefit from the advantages of the programme with an additional 12 months added to their remaining membership period.
If you are promoted to an upper level, you can benefit from the programme for another 12 months. For instance, if you became an Avis Preferred member on 1 May 2024 and your membership will then be promoted to Avis Preferred Plus on 1 October 2024, the remaining 7 months from your previous membership will be added to your loyalty year and you will be an Avis Preferred Plus member for 19 months (from 1 October 2024 to 1 May 2026).

In which countries is it valid?

You can enjoy the benefits of the Avis Preferred loyalty programme if you are renting in one of the following countries:
Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Germany, Netherlands, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Kingdom, South Africa, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Italy (except Sardinia), Spain (except Canary Islands), Finland, Greece, Portugal, Iceland, Poland, and Türkiye.

  • Avis Preferred members must make a booking minimum 4 hours before their rental.
  • Single group vehicle class upgrades for Avis Preferred Plus members are subject to fleet availability.
  • Avis President's Club members can benefit from single group upgrades for weekday rentals, regardless of fleet availability.
  • For Avis President's Club members, double group upgrade for weekend rentals subject to fleet availability.
  • To complete your Avis Preferred application, all you need is your driving licence and credit card - don't forget to check the booking terms and conditions of the country you are renting in.
SITUATIONS WHERE THE AVIS PREFERRED PROGRAM IS INVALID
  • The advantages provided by the Avis Preferred program are not applicable to airport transfer and/or chauffeured rental services.
  • Car rentals made free of charge are not eligible for the benefits of the Avis Preferred program.
  • Avis Preferred program advantages will not be valid for discounted rentals won as a result of contests and similar special events.
  • Avis Preferred benefits are not available for corporate daily car rentals.
  • Avis Preferred benefits are not available for monthly rentals.
  • Rentals made by Avis employees and their relatives are not included in the Avis Preferred program advantages.
  • Avis Preferred advantages are not valid for car rentals made through agencies and tour operators.
